PART I. HISTORY OF THE BARANGAY

A. HISTORY

     Many years ago,  during the recent years of our forefathers ba-
rangay Sugcong was a "SITIO" of Cabaruan town of Urdaneta, Province
of  Pangasinan and its Landmark is Southwestern portion of the City
of  Urdaneta,  as  of this days bounded of Southwestern of the town
Villasis,  Pangasinan  containing  an  area  at  more  or  less 157
hectares. 

     Going   further,  description  and   surface  of   the   lands
covered this barangay are mostly uplands where rice and corns grown
and sometimes monggos, beans, cassava and other roots crops are pla
nted as alternative under the farm implemented  formula of the unti-
ring farmers were taught by means seminars  conducted by some farme-
rs, technicians to plant grafted mango trees/seedlings  as addition-
al source of income of the people in the barangay. Some people also
raised goats and cows/carabaos aside from hog rising.

     A  far  as  the development of the barangay was concerned, the
governing  body  of  the barangay was headed by a barrio lieutenant
(Tinyente Del Barrio)  and  some sectoral representative as helping
hand  to  govern  or  rule the barangay until finally, the barangay
was proclaim a full pledge "Barangay"  with regards to the petition
field by  governing  body,  headed  by the barrio lieutenant during
those area.

     There  after  the  governing  bodies  of Sugcong, being one of
those  34  barangay in the City of Urdaneta, Province of Pangasinan
best  on their  outmost  sincere  thanks and gratitudes to the late
Hon. Amadeo "Texas" Perez Sr.  and  his  family, for those supports
assistance  on  the  achievement in the development of the barangay
Sugcong as of today.
